Se Levanta: A Benefit for Puerto Rico
December 1 @ 7:00 pm
Friday, December 1st
Doors: 7pm | Show: 8pm
Please join us for a night of amazing music in support of a crucial cause!
Puerto Rico has a long history of being underrepresented and vulnerable, but the devastation of hurricane Maria has exacerbated the conditions of neglect. We want to come together to do our part in letting Puerto Rico know they are not forgotten, and that we won’t allow this crisis to become yesterday’s news. The proceeds are being donated to the Puerto Rico Recovery Fund. Organized by the Center for a New Economy, the Puerto Rico Recovery fund focuses on three strategic and interrelated areas:
-Addressing immediate humanitarian needs
-Advocacy efforts in San Juan and Washington DC, to ensure maximum federal support and efficient resource coordination
-Medium and long-term economic development with a focus on resiliency.

The Business People
Post-funk and quarter-punk since 2010.
Created and fronted by Jenna Faline Ave-Lallemant. The songs, heavily driven by her lyrics, are inspired by the many experiential insights of the difficulty of life, the wisdom in folly, and the vulnerability love instills within those who take its hand.
Their music comes from their imaginations, where shit-kickin’ east Texas honky tonks are infiltrated by weird and flamboyant art school kids and, somehow, everybody gets along famously!
Charlotte’s first and only abrasive afro punk beat jazz band.
Claudio Ortiz’s ever-changing sound experiment, open to revolving collaborators of all skill levels and disciplines. While every show is different, the bleeps and bloops always mesmerize.
