Thursday, February 9th
Doors: 8pm | Show: 9pm
Join us for a night of music with Nashville-based band The Traveling Ones and Charlotte locals Brit Drozda and Jason Scavone.
The Traveling Ones:
From the moment Justin and Emily met at an open mic in Austin, TX, they knew they had a special connection. What started as a romantic relationship quickly blossomed into a music career that the two dove into hand-in-hand. When on stage it’s hard to deny the chemistry that Emily and Justin share. They released their debut album, Meet Me There, in February of 2017 and in August relocated to Nashville, TN, where they now call home. The Traveling Ones have a big year of touring planned for 2018 and are excited to expand into new areas.
With shared influences that span decades and genres (Aretha Franklin, Norah Jones, The Black Crowes, The Beatles) the duo’s music is more about heart than labels or boundaries. Even so, it exhibits a consistently laid-back pattern of soulful blues-rock. “Like the sentimental ballads from Jason Isbell and Ryan Adams, the Traveling One’s style of Americana is rich in harmony and full of character,” wrote Tour Worthy of the couple’s unique, earthy sound.
Brit Drozda: Brit Drozda is an accomplished Folk-Rock, singer-songwriter and recording artist based in Charlotte, N.C. For more than 15 years she’s been writing music and performed live all over the U.S. with original material and as a lead singer in a band called “The Prices”. Influenced by Brandi Carlile, Ingrid Michaelson, and Coldplay. Brit brings a soulful voice and poetic lyrics to her listeners. Her sound has been likened to KT Tunstall, Regina Spektor and Norah Jones. After a brief hiatus from performing, Brit returns to the music world with her album Let Me Hang the Moon and continues her pursuit with the hopes to entertain audiences large and small while sharing song that inspire.
