Akron\, Ohio – the city that produced the Pretenders\, the Black Keys\, and Devo – isn’t a place normally associated with country music\, but these influences are as integral to their sound as those of the country music greats. The bulk of Stampede was recorded at Son of Moondog Studios over a five-day period that brought Benson\, Seifert and Asleep at the Wheel to Northeast Ohio to work with the Shootouts on the band’s home turf. \nStampede also finds the Shootouts working with a notable array of Americana heavy-hitters. There’s the high-speed opening kiss-off “Better Things to Do\,” which features Marty Stuart’s unmistakable bluegrass-tinged mandolin. Benson and members of Asleep at the Wheel get in on the fun with the western swing-rooted “One Step Forward.” Raul Malo of The Mavericks lends soaring harmony vocals to “I’ll Never Need Anyone More\,” a song written by Cleveland music legend Michael Stanley\, who passed away in 2021. DESCRIPTION:Show @ 9pm\nTickets: $15\n• 21+ with valid ID \n  \nLillie Mae\nMusic has always been a major part of Lillie Mae’s life. At the age of 3\, Mae started performing and playing with her family band at churches\, fairs\, festivals and theme parks. The family moved to Nashville when she was 8\, expanding their profile and her own experience as traveling and performing became the norm. \nAt age 14\, Lillie Mae and her siblings formed the band Jypsi and signed with Arista Records. They garnered two Top 40 singles on Billboard’s Hot Country chart however\, that success didn’t last. The fickleness of the major label system caused Jypsi’s album to be shelved before it was released. \nLillie Mae would go on to find success as a studio musician\, performing with many top musicians\, including Dwight Yoakam\, the Grammy-nominated Michael Kiwanuka\, Dean Fertitta and Jack White. She met the Third Man crew when White’s long-time engineer Josh Smith suggested that she and her sister Scarlett record for The Lone Ranger soundtrack. Around that time\, White was putting the finishing touches on his solo debut\, Blunderbuss\, and enlisted Mae to perform on “Take Me With You When You Go.” White then invited Lillie to join his all-female touring band and with Jypsi on hiatus\, she accepted the offer. \nThose journeys with White brought her to some of the biggest festival and concert halls in the world. From Neil Young’s legendary Bridge School benefit show to playing fiddle for Robert Plant and even opening for him. When touring commenced with White\, she’d go on to release two albums via his Third Man Records label – 2017’s Forever and Then Some and 2019’s Other Girls. \nIn 2021\, Lillie Mae got to work on her next album Festival Eyes with Texas producer Beau Bedford and her family serving as her backing band.
