Palmyra

Established in the Shenandoah Valley, Palmyra’s set explores the fusion of traditional folk string instruments, three-part harmonies and deft songwriting described by the Boston Globe as “earnest but not saccharine”. The trio captures the collective spirit of three Virginia natives, Teddy (he/him), Manoa (he/him), and Sasha (they/them), often described as a distant cousin of the progressive folk band, Punch Brothers, mixed with elements of Oliver Wood and the Avett Brothers. Palmyra’s songs are intimate and contemplative, with arrangements that allow them to create the illusion of a full, larger-than-three ensemble. The trio’s sound is a nod to Appalachia and Americana, apparent through their stirring craftsmanship and dedication to a folk-driven, moving experience throughout each unique live performance.

Low Groves

With folksy roots, enveloped by droning soundscapes, Low Groves tiptoes the lines of folk music and indie rock while exploring themes of longing and loss. The project was formed out of necessity. After losing his last living grandparent and being laid off from his day job with the Chicago White Sox in 2020, he retreated to his vacant grandparents’ house in Chicago to gather belongings and determine his next move. He emerged with the 10 songs that would comprise his debut album: Drifter.
